The Guild is a group of dedicated volunteers who endeavor to raise funds for the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.

Currently, we have over 100 members, each committed to the betterment of the health care received by children.  Over the last 100 plus years, our members have made a substantial and important impact in our community through a number of activities including:

  • annual fundraisers:  Fabulous Dinners, High Teas, & Fashion Shows,
  • the Nearly New Shop at 961 Portage Avenue,
  • Sew4Kids – a network of sewers, knitters, and crafters that provides book bags, bonding cloths, baby blankets and so much more for children in hospital
  • volunteering at events sponsored by Foundation
  • The Annual Teddy Bear’s picnic
  • Book Market

Our Meetings

Members meet three times per year:  January Annual General Meeting, Spring General Meeting, and a Fall General meeting.  These are usually held at St. Mary’s Academy at a convenient time.

At our meetings we discuss the business of the Guild, keep up to date with the Foundation news and present volunteer opportunities for fundraising events.

A variety of guest speakers inform and educate our members about current research, the needs of sick children in hospital, and a variety of interesting topics.  Discussion and information is provided on where and how funds raised are distributed.

Last year, the Children's Hospital Guild of Manitoba raised over $170,000 for the Children's Hospital Foundation through our fundraising efforts and sales at the Nearly New Shop.

Our annual membership is $25.00, the benefits are companionship, laughter, and the opportunity to make a difference for children in the Children's Hospital.
